Entering the second week of the MLB offseason and sports wagering sites are continuing to monitor the league's hottest free agents. With the top four players of the 2011 offseason all signed, baseball betting online fans are left pondering who will receive the next hefty contract. Here are two of the remaining top MLB free agents, who should be signed within the next few days.

  • Carl Pavano SP - The 2010-11 offseason free agent market is thin on pitching talent now that Cliff Lee has been scooped up by the Philadelphia Phillies. Enter Carl Pavano, a veteran starting pitcher who was integral to the Florida Marlins dynasty of the early part of the decade.

In recent years, Pavano has made stop in New York for the Yankees, Cleveland for the Indians and most recently in Minnesota for the Twins. While many breeders cup betting fans and experts alike believed that Pavano's career was over after the failed Yankees experiment, he rebounded over the last season and a half with the Twins and Indians.

Pavano is a solid number three starter that can eat a lot of innings for a young pitching rotation. For a team on the cusp of playoffs, Pavano is a pitcher you may want to consider.

  • Adrian Beltre IF - Last season, Beltre was acquired from the Seattle Mariners by the Boston Red Sox. Although the Red Sox failed to qualify for the playoffs, that wasn't the fault of Beltre. Instead, Beltre put together one of his best statistical seasons, hitting for career highs in average and RBI.

This offseason, Beltre has had several teams including the Texas Rangers, and Colorado Rockies, contact his agent about working out a possible deal. Beltre is an offensive third baseman, who similar to Pavano could provide a young team on the cusp of playoffs with a good boost.
