MLB fans using online betting sites have been quite busy over the last few days, as the winter offseason meetings got underway earlier this week. With that said, sports betting fans gambling on their favorite baseball teams, may have found Wednesday to be the busiest, as quite a few free agents were signed. From Paul Konerko resigning in the Windy City, to star outfielder Carl Crawford finding a new home in the American League East, bettors have seen a lot of player movement over the first three days of meetings.

On Wednesday evening, the Tampa Bay Rays were in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. Firstly, it was reported by multiple sources, that former Rays outfielder Carl Crawford had not only been signed by a new team, but a new team in the division. That team is the Boston Red Sox. Last season, the Red Sox had one of their worst seasons in the last decade, as injuries to key personnel caused the team to miss the playoffs. One area where they were sorely lacking some help was in the outfield. As a result, they made a very lucrative offer that Crawford couldn't refuse, as the Sox reportedly signed him to a seven year deal worth $142 million.

Also on Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Rays supposedly traded away diverse utility man Jason Bartlett. Bartlett grew into a star player the last few seasons in Tampa Bay, playing essentially every position on the diamond except for pitcher. Bartlett was traded to the San Diego Padres, a team in desperate need of a short stop.

However, the biggest news aside from the Crawford deal, coming out of Wednesday, was Tampa Bay's revelation that they are currently shopping pitcher Matt Garza. Recall, last season, Garza pitched a no hitter and really came into his own for the Rays. As a result, of the Rays pitching depth, it appears that Garza has suddenly become expendable.
