Sports betting baseball offseason is a time for excitement, as fans and analysts alike try to predict where the MLB's free agent class will sign. For every big name baseball betting star that did enough to get a nice new big contract this past season, there are several players who will receive a big pay day simply for the overrated hype. Here are three players that will get paid but are very overrated.

  • Adam Dunn 1B/ OF - Adam Dunn is seen by many baseball betting experts as the crown jewel for positional free agents this offseason. However, if this is the case, why has he been on three different teams in the last two years? A consistent 40 home run 100 runs batted in offensive powerhouse, Dunn leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to defensive play.

From an offensive power threat perspective, no hitter will receive as big of a payday this offseason as Dunn is expected to. If he comes over to the American League, expect Dunn to be the richest designated hitter ever. However, if he stays in the National League, look for Dunn to be bought out by his new club in a few years, because he is overrated.

  • Aubrey Huff 1B - Huff recently resigned with the San Francisco Giants to be their first baseman for the next two years, at an astounding $22 million. A betonline scam? Not likely. For over 20 home runs and 70 runs batted in a season, we think it's fare to say that Huff got paid a little bit more than he's worth. At 33 years of age, Huff isn't getting any younger, and with age comes a decline in production.
  • Manny Ramirez DH/OF - At 38 years of age, Manny Ramirez still feels he has enough to contribute at the big league level. However, after a season which saw the egotistical over paid star hit a career low 42 RBI, we see any suitor for Ramirez, over paying for him. Last season he made $18.7 million and gave the Dodgers and White Sox a combined 42 RBI, that's not money well spent.
