One of the best forms of online betting when it comes to baseball is the parlay. In essence the parlay bet is one in which you get to wager on a number of teams at the same time. However, parlays also have their drawbacks as you will receive a smaller payout by the end, depending on how many teams you wager upon.

For instance, three team parlays have six to one payouts while two team parlays have 10 to one payouts. But how exactly does a parlay appear?

In essence, a parlay bet is when you select multiple teams, and transfer the winnings of one game to wager on another. Most online sportsbooks will allow you to parlay bet on up to 10 teams. However the more teams you include in your parlay, the lower the payout. Here is how a two team parlay would look.

A bettor wants to parlay the Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres. The Braves are a – 200 over the Florida Marlins, while the Padres are a +110 against the LA Dodgers. If the bettor is to wager $50 on the parlay, this means they would place $50 on the Braves to win. Now if the Braves win the bettors $50 then transfer to the Padres at $75. Two possibilities can occur in this scenario.

First, if the Padres beat the Dodgers, the bettor will win $157.50 because both bets in the parlay were made winners. However if the Padres lose, than the bettor loses both bets, regardless of the Braves victory because they were in the parlay with the Padres.

Parlays are most affective when they are played by bettors with low budgets, as they have the possibility for higher payouts at smaller plays. Conversely, in order for the parlay to be worthwhile for a bettor with a big budget they would have to parlay more than two teams.
